Postdoctoral Researchers

Ya-Chih Huang Ph.D. 黃雅芝 博士

Dr. Ya-Chih Huang obtained her Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Medicine at Chung Shan Medical University. She joined Prof. Chen’s group in February 2024 as a postdoctoral research fellow. Her research expertise includes retinal biology and aging-related disorders, with a particular focus on ocular diseases. Her current work emphasizes the development of targeted nanotherapeutic systems for retinal drug delivery and disease intervention.

Cheng-Mu Wu Ph.D. 吳城慕 博士

Dr. Cheng-Mu Wu obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Bacteriology from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and joined Prof. Chen’s group as a postdoctoral research fellow in October 2024. His research focuses on investigating how bacteria influence cancer cell behavior and immune responses within the tumor microenvironment. His interests include synthetic biology, genetic engineering, and the development of living materials–based drug delivery technologies.

Research Assistants

Kai-Yun Cheng 鄭凱云

Kai-Yun completed B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biochemical Science and Technology from National Taiwan University. He joined Prof. Chen’s group in March 2024 as a research assistant. His research interests focus on innovative nanoparticle design and surface modification strategies for targeted delivery, with emphasis on anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory nanoplatforms.

Wei-Chieh Liu 劉瑋杰

Wei-Chieh received his B.S. degree in Respiratory Therapy from the College of Medicine, Taipei Medical University. He joined Prof. Chen’s laboratory in October 2023 as a research assistant and currently serves as the lab manager. His research interests center on the design and application of multifunctional nanomaterials and innovative drug delivery technologies for synergistic cancer therapies.

Shou-Hou Liu 劉守厚

Shou-Hou received his master’s degree in Immunology from National Taiwan University. He joined the laboratory in October 2024 as a research assistant. His research interests focus on cancer immunotherapy and engineered immune cell therapies.

Yu-Ting Su 蘇育廷

Yu-Ting completed her bachelor degree in Biochemical Science and Technology and master degree in the Graduate Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at National Taiwan University. She joined Professor Chen’s laboratory in January 2025 as a research assistant. Her research interests focus on developing anti-aging strategies through nanoparticle-based delivery technology and cell engineering.

Cheng-Yeh Yu 余承曄

Cheng-Yeh received his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Sciences at National Tsing Hua University. He joined Prof. Chen’s laboratory in March 2025 as an undergraduate researcher and research assistant. His current research focuses on engineered living materials–based drug delivery technologies for tumor therapy.

Graduate Students

Sin-Si Lin 林昕憙

Sin-Si double majored in Radiological Medicine and Law during her undergraduate studies and specialized in Medical Pathology during her master’s training at National Defense Medical University. She joined Prof. Chen’s laboratory as a joint master’s student in January 2024 and is currently a Ph.D. student in the joint doctoral program of Academia Sinica, National Defense Medical University, and National Health Research Institutes. Her research interests focus on integrating lipid nanoparticle technologies to advance disease diagnosis and therapy.

Phan Thi Thuy Tien

Phan Thi Thuy Tien (Jane) received her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy in 2016 from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and her Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the Taiwan International Graduate Program in Chemical Biology and Molecular Biophysics at Academia Sinica, where she joined Prof. Chen’s lab in September 2025. Her research interests focus on the development of advanced nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems.

En-Chi Hsu 許恩琪

En-Chi completed a double major in Life Science and Biomedical Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. She joined Prof. Chen’s group in July 2024 as an undergraduate researcher and is currently a master’s student in the Interdisciplinary Master Program in Molecular Medicine (IMPMM) at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Her research interests focus on the development of multifunctional nanomaterials and drug delivery technology for cancer and inflammatory diseases.

Undergraduate Students

Lo-Chueh Chu 朱珞駃

Lo-Chueh is an undergraduate student double majoring in Life Science and Materials Science and Engineering at National Tsing Hua University. Lo-Chueh joined Prof. Chen’s lab in July 2024. She is currently holding a NSTC-funded undergraduate research grant. Her research interests focus on integrating innovative nanomaterial design with biological insights to address challenges in cancer treatment, medical and technological applications.

Kai-En Huang 黃楷恩

Kai-En is a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Department of Medicine at National Taiwan University. He joined Prof. Chen’s laboratory in July 2024 and is currently supported by an NSTC-funded undergraduate research grant. His research interests focus on disease mechanisms and their clinical applications, with particular emphasis on living materials–based drug engineering and tumor research.

Shin-Yun Lin 林時韻

Shih-Yun is a third-year undergraduate student in the Department of Biochemical Science and Technology at National Taiwan University. She joined the laboratory in July 2025 as an undergraduate researcher. Her research interests include siRNA-based therapeutics and nanomedicine-driven drug delivery technologies for gene therapy applications.

Bing-Hui Zou 鄒秉惠

Bing-Hui is an undergraduate student in the Department of Physical Therapy at National Taiwan University. She joined Prof. Chen’s laboratory in July 2025 as an undergraduate researcher. Her research interest includes nanoparticle-based cancer immunotherapy and engineered immune cell therapies.
